Dangers of a Bottom Locker

In middle school we have lockers. I was going to have a top locker, but then we (my dad) traded for a bottom locker. Having a bottom locker is nice, but it has it's costs. People drop things on your head, sometimes. There is a ton of people around you, and it is hard to get in and out of it. Like getting through the people to get to the locker. Also, people step on your skirt if you are wearing one, if you try to get up you have to hold it so it does not fall down.

Some of the good points...

You can actually reach the hooks on the top of the locker. It is easier to organize. You can put your stuff on the floor in front of you, instead of holding it like the people who have the top lockers.

That is just about the locker. There are many more things in middle school to talk about. This is just one of the little dramas that goes on.

Orchestra Camp at UNT

This week we had orchestra camp at UNT. All week long we had orchestra rehearsals, music theory and history. At rehearsals we were practicing two songs, Clog Dance, and Yes I Can Can,  for our performance on Friday.

The teacher, Ms. McCain, who taught our class will be my teacher next year at McMath Middle School. I am really looking forward to school next year.

This week I went to UNT for an Orchestra camp. We had orchestra rehearsals and music theory and history. During orchestra rehear We played two pieces, Clog Dance and Yes I Can Can.

Here is a video of the second half of the first song we played during our concert.

Dolce

I'm so excited to tell about the dog we are going to get sometime by the end of next week!

She is a three year old Basset Hound and is named Dolce (or Dulce.) She has had 3 litters of puppies, but is now spade. And what is really nice is she is all up to date in shots, and has been checked for heartworms. (Don’t worry, she doesn’t have heartworms!) Also, she is crate and potty trained.

My family was looking for Basset Hounds on line at a website my friend showed us, and she was listed for adoption. We read the information about her and found out that she was a very sweet dog and was good with children and other pets. We all agreed that we wanted her and my mom filled out an application for her. A couple of days later we received an email telling us a little more about Dolce. It was telling us that a family was looking for a family dog to play with their kids, but Dolce didn’t really want to play with their kids, instead it followed around the mom. Soon the family returned Dolce. Mom replied and said we wanted a loving dog more than a jumpy dog and answered some questions the lady had about what we would do with the dog etc.

The Lady called my mom to make sure she really wanted Dolce etc. And mother said she still wanted her. So the foster mom is going to call us on Wednesday, which is the day she gets back from her trip!

 I can not wait!

P.S  Pictures coming soon!

I Play Violin

Reading Ellie's blog about playing the violin made me want to write about my experince playing the violin.

I love playing the violin. In my orchestra class I have a orchestra teacher named Mrs. Atkins. I have about 18 5th graders in my class, 2 play the the bass, 2 play the cello, 2 play the viola, and the rest play the violin. The songs I know how to play now are the Walking Song, Good King Wenceslas, Twinkle, Twinkle Star, Rolling Along (Mary had a little Lamb), Lightly Row, and Dreidel. (I'm still working on Can, Can, Old McDonald had a Farm, Jingle Bells, and a French Folk Song.)

We are going to have a concert on December, 18th 2007, I can't wait!

The Trip to California

This summer my family took a trip to California for my Auntie Jessi's wedding. We drove there, and it was a little stuffy and squishy in the little, black Hyundai, but it wasn't too bad. We finally got there. While we were there we had a great time visiting lots of friends and family and also the beach. We also had a great time at Jessi's wedding.(My sister and I were flowergirls in the wedding.) After about a month,we drove back home straight through to Texas. (It took about 25 hours.) And we are glad to be home.
